This summer I read Emma by Jane Austen and Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte. I would give Emma a 10 for personal reading but an 8 for class reading. I really enjoyed it but I thought it was an easy read. I'm a big fan of Austen's books because of her well developed characters and her interesting plot lines but to me her books are something I would read on my own time versus for a class. I would give Jane Eyre an 8.5 for personal reading and an 8 for class reading. I also enjoyed reading this book but like Emma I thought it was an easy read. This one has a lower score than Emma because it's a pretty long book and is slow in some parts. I would definitely recommend both books because they are classic books for a reason. Both books are very well written making them desirable reading. One disclaimer though, if guys want to read them that's great, but I think they would appeal more to a female audience.
